By 2026, global renewable electricity capacity is forecast to rise more than 60% from 2020 levels to over 4 800 GW. Planned projects also indicate that global electrolyser capacity for hydrogen could stimulate the deployment of an additional 475 GW of wind and solar PV capacity in the longer term, the equivalent of one-third of total installed variable renewable capacity today.
